Our soy candles have wooden wicks and sit in raw steel pots. They are made in small batches and are hand finished before being sent out.
Our signature fragrance – fig and cassis – is a blend of two of our Harp Cottage holiday cottages, one on the Welsh Borders, Harp Cottage, and the other in Central France, Les Coteaux.
The name labels are in Welsh ‘ffig du a cassis’ but look like French at first glance, which we love! Blackcurrants to make cassis have been grown in the Welsh borders for many years and Figs grow in the garden of our home in France.
The candles’ steel containers are made by a local Welsh family firm founded in the 1850s. The candles are hand poured, with sustainable soy wax and our own unique fragrance, by a local Welsh company that works with adults with learning difficulties. This integrity and awareness, and support for local businesses, is central to the Harp Cottage ethos.
